Dealing with hazards
Spills
 

    Warning signs, cordon off area.  Clean spill up immediately. If major seek assistance. If possible arrange for work to be continued in another area. Use safety equipment - gloves, masks, etc.

 

Faults and Obstructions

    Remove potential hazards from areas, e.g. doorways or walkways. Keep fire escapes clear. Warn of slip, trip and fall hazards

Activity
Within your workplace, home or college, and with the help of your trainer, supervisor or OH&S representative, discuss various possible hazards. These could be as simple, but as dangerous as stock piled near an emergency exit or fire extinguisher or damaged electrical fittings.  Please comment on at least one possible hazard and discuss with others in your work or study group.
