Induction - the initial session or meeting

It is essential that volunteers attend an induction session.  Information needs to be exchanged so that expectations are clear to both parties.

The organisation should give information on:
Organisation, aims & objectives
The role of volunteers
Importance of confidentiality and privacy
Rights & responsibilities of volunteers
Emergency and safety essentials
Amenities
Methods of communication

Reasons for volunteering
List of existing skills
Referees

Include reasons for volunteering, expectations, existing skills.  Need 2 or 3 referees, to be followed up.
